Considerations
  • 40MB of device memory and 100MB of SD card memory must be available in order to upgrade.
  • The upgrade will take approximately 40 minutes to complete via SRT method; 25 via SD card side load method.
NOTE: Both estimates are dependent on connection speed.
  • MOTOBLUR sync will happen automatically after the upgrade and take approximately 10 minutes.
NOTE: Depending on the size and source of your contact and calendar information, it could take up to 60 minutes to fully sync.
  • While the device is being upgraded, you will be unable to place or receive calls.
  • Most device settings will be preserved but Ringtones, Volume, Screen Lock passwords, Wallpaper, Contact shortcuts, Corporate Sync passwords, and Instant Messaging login information will not be saved.
  • Content stored on the SD card will not be lost but content stored on the device may be lost.
  • Bluetooth devices may need to be re-paired.
  • Applications downloaded from the Android Market will be restored but not all applications may be compatible with Android 2.1 and may not function.
  • The device may appear to operate slower during the initial synchronization process after the upgrade. Some users may experience slower operation of some phone functions after the synchronization process is complete due to additional software added in the upgrade.
