There have been all sports of reports about the Galaxy S26 Edge's future over the past few weeks. The most recent claimed that the device has been canceled because the Galaxy S25 Edge didn't sell that well.
The realization had set in for many Samsung fans that perhaps this is the end of the super slim flagship, but that may not be the case. New information has surfaced which suggests that the Galaxy S26 Edge might still be in the pipeline for next year.
GalaxyClub has discovered that Samsung started developing a new phone under the codename “More Slim” a few months ago. The codename tracks, because the codename for the Galaxy S25 Edge was “Slim.” Full marks for creativity, Samsung.
The interesting bit pointed out in the report is that the More Slim device isn't the one that was first believed to be the Galaxy S26 Edge. Its development started long after the Edge device that was supposed to replace the Galaxy S26+ and is now believed to be canceled.
So, what's happening here? It's likely that the originally planned device has indeed been canceled and Samsung will release the three flagship devices, the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra as planned. It's likely keeping its options open for later in the year where it may launch the Galaxy S26 Edge.
Perhaps the company wants to adopt a wait and see approach, particularly with how Apple plans to take things forward with the iPhone Air next year. If demand ticks up by then or even if it needs to launch a Galaxy S26 Edge just to compete with Apple's second-generation Air, then we may see More Slim become a reality.
