It happens like clockwork every year. A few months before Samsung is due to unveil its new flagship lineup, there's always a rumor that comes out of the woodwork, claiming that the launch will be delayed by a few months for one reason or another.

The claims rarely turn out to be true and Samsung always delivers the launch when it's expected to. So as fresh rumors of a Galaxy S26 launch delay have started making the rounds, maybe don't rush into believing them just yet.

There's not much substance to it

The rumor claims that instead of unveiling the new Galaxy S26 series in January as we all expect, Samsung is going to delay the launch to March next year. It doesn't go into a whole lot of detail about why this delay is necessary, but mentions some concerns during the development process.

The development issues are claimed to be limited to the Galaxy S26 while work on the Galaxy S26 Ultra is claimed to be finished and the device ready for mass production. Again, there's not much substance behind these claims.

It has to be something very significant that forces Samsung to delay the Galaxy S26 lineup's launch. Whether that's an issue with component sourcing or if the company has itself decided to adjust its launch windows yet again. Beyond that, it doesn't make much sense why a delay would be the case in a routine device launch.

Despite being a flagship series, this is hardly groundbreaking stuff. Samsung could pump out new Galaxy S models in its sleep, that's how good it is at this stuff, as three new models per year have become a matter of routine for the company since more than a decade.
