The Galaxy Buds 3 FE, announced earlier today, are priced at $150. This is $100 less than the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, but they look remarkably similar. So, what are the differences between them, and why are the Galaxy Buds 3 FE $100 cheaper? Let us find out.
While both earbuds feature Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity, they have different audio driver setups. The Galaxy Buds 3 FE uses a single 11mm driver on each side, while the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro features a dual-driver setup featuring a 10.5mm dynamic driver and a 6.5mm planar magnetic driver in each earbud. So, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro should ideally have better audio quality, especially in the upper end of the audio spectrum.

Both earbuds feature a total of six microphones and AI-powered voice isolation for better call quality. They also feature Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Ambient modes. However, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro has more effective ANC and it can tune the ANC strength depending on your environment and ambient sounds.
On top of the AAC and SBC audio codecs, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro also feature the Samsung Seamless Codec Ultra High Quality (SSC UHQ) audio codecs that can trasmit 24-bit/96kHz audio wirelessly. The Galaxy Buds 3 FE lacks the SSC UHQ codec, and is limited to AAC and SBC only. While most people can't discern between good quality audio codecs like AAC and aptX and higher-quality codecs like LDAC and SSC UHQ, the ones with the latter codecs can theoretically support Hi-Res Lossless music tracks.

Samsung hasn't clarified if the Galaxy Buds 3 FE support Bluetooth Auracast and LE Audio, though. We will report on that matter once we get official information about support for those features.

The Galaxy Buds 3 FE and the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro support the audio equalizer (EQ) via the Galaxy Wearable app. Only the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro support the Adaptive Equalizer feature, which automatically adjusts the audio tuning based on how the earbuds sit in your ears to bring the best out of your music. The Buds 3 FE also lacks 360 Audio, which is present on the Buds 3 and the Buds 3 Pro.
Since both earbuds feature a stem-like design, they support swipe and pinch gestures to control music playback, volume adjustment, audio mode switching, and summoning the Gemini AI assistant. They both support Galaxy AI features like Interpreter Mode, starting a playlist, checking your schedule, and reading emails or messages.

The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro support awareness features like Alarm Detect and Sired Detect. The Galaxy Buds 3 FE lack those features. Both earbuds feature Auto Switch for seamless connectivity. Both earbuds feature Samsung Find integration.
The Galaxy Buds 3 FE also lack Blade Lights that can display battery charge level. Both models come in a vertically-aligned charging case with a semi-transparent lid and a USB Type-C port. The case that comes with the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro supports Qi wireless charging, while the Galaxy Buds 3 FE case doesn't.
