Samsung announced a few months ago that it will launch its first XR headset before the end of this year. However, it isn't the only brand that is planning to launch a mixed-reality headset in 2025. Even Vivo will launch its first mixed-reality headset, and it will be announced later this month.
Five months ago, Vivo revealed that it is working on a mixed-reality headset. The company recently announced that it is called Vivo Vision and that it will be announced on 21 August 2025. The General Manager of Vivo Smart Device Products, Hong Yi, shared a few details about the headset on Weibo. They claimed that Vivo Vision will be as immersive and precise as the Apple Vision Pro, which is currently at the pinnacle of mixed-reality headset performance.
Yi also claimed that the Vivo Vision is extremely lightweight and features three-dimensional controls using hand and finger gestures, quite similar to the Apple Vision Pro and Samsung's Project Moohan. Similar to the Apple Vision Pro, Vivo's XR headset has a digital crown for scrolling and adjusting the display's opacity. The device is made using a metal frame and has plastic, glass, and fabric bits.

Most likely, Vivo's headset doesn't run Android XR, as Google has clearly stated that Samsung's Project Moohan will be the world's first device to run Android XR, and Vivo's headset is launching earlier than Samsung's headset. Moreover, Vivo's first mixed-reality headset will initially be available only as an experience at Vivo's stores across China. Users can check out the headset and then reserve to buy it.
This tells us that the device will likely not launch outside of China, much like most high-end smartphones from Chinese brands. So, Samsung doesn't need to worry about Vivo's first mixed-reality headset. The South Korean firm's XR headset could be priced anywhere between $2,000 and $3,000, which makes it a lot cheaper than the Apple Vision Pro, which costs $3,500.
