The Gear Fit is the latest addition to the Gear series, and joins the Tizen-based Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo smartwatches. While the two smartwatches are similar in design and offer identical functionality, the Gear Fit is a fitness tracker that looks like a downsized version of the Gear 2. The fitness tracker comes with a 1.84-inch curved OLED screen that is more rectangular in nature. The screen has a resolution of 432 x 128, and can be used to view notifications like incoming texts, e-mails and voice calls from connected devices.

The Gear Fit connects via Bluetooth 4.0 and will last for four days on a single charge, which is considerably more than what the Gear 2 and gear 2 Neo can manage. Samsung has also announced that the Gear Fit comes pre-loaded with utilities like Notifications, Media Controller, Pedometer, Exercise, Timer, Stopwatch and Settings. In addition to these utilities, the Gear Fit also features a heart rate monitors that checks monitors your pulse in real-time. The exercise utility can sync with Samsung’s S Health and shows workout targets based on the goals you set. The Gear Fit, like the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo, comes with an interchangeable wristband. Pricing information for the Gear Fit isn’t available yet, but it will be hitting stores sometime in April along with the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo.
