Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 7 today. The company's new foldable device has a lot to offer, and the company has gone to great lengths to improve its durability.
This includes the use of Corning's latest cover glass material to protect the wider cover display. Samsung has confirmed that the cover display utilizes Corning's Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2.

If that name sounds familiar, that's because Samsung has already used Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the Galaxy S25 Edge. This is a new ceramic cover glass that Corning has developed with crystals embedded intricately within its glass matrix.
This further increases the durability and crack resistance, thereby delivering enhanced protection even on devices that have a thin profile. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is the thinnest in its series yet, coming in at just 4.2mm when unfolded.
As you'd expect, there's glass on the back as well, which is protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass Victus 2. It has been around for a couple of years now and is a proven commodity, so customers who shell out top dollar for the newest foldable phone can rest assured they're getting best-in-class durability.
Pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 are open today with the device set to be released on July 25. It's available in Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, and Jetblack and the online-exclusive Mint color.
