Samsung has started rolling out the May 2026 security patch to the Galaxy A54. It fixes 36 security issues present in the previous version of the OS. The international variant of the smartphone in Asian and Middle Eastern countries, including India and Saudi Arabia, is the first to get it.

The update is 286.79MB in size and carries firmware version A546EXXSJEZE5 (via Mohammed Khatri). To check its availability, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. In the remaining regions, the brand may release the update in the next few weeks.

Samsung started rolling out the May 2026 security patch to Galaxy smartphones a couple of days ago. The brand offered it first to the Galaxy S26 series, as it is the company's newest and most premium smartphone. Typically, the tech giant then offers it to slightly older but premium devices, such as the Galaxy Z and Galaxy S series. However, Samsung surprised everyone by offering it to the Galaxy A55, and now to the Galaxy A54. That being said, it isn’t unusual.

The next update for the Galaxy A54 is expected to bring One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2). It offers a new user interface and a plethora of new features. Samsung has also announced One UI 9.0 (Android 17), as well as released its beta version for the Galaxy S26 series. While the Galaxy A54 is eligible to get it, the brand may not release it for the Galaxy A series anytime soon. You can check out the major changes it brings in our video below.
