Samsung, despite positioning the Galaxy Tab S11 and the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra as its flagship, premium tablets with high prices, has placed them on a quarterly security update schedule rather than a monthly security update schedule. This means that the brand offers them one security update every three months, instead of offering one security update every month — a benefit the company extends to some of its more affordable devices. If that wasn’t disappointing enough, the latest security update for these devices doesn’t even include the newest security patch.

Samsung is rolling out software updates for the Galaxy Tab S11 and the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. They bring the February 2026 security patch, instead of the latest available security update, the March 2026 security patch. Based on available information, these updates are available for the non-cellular (Wi-Fi only) variants of the two tablets in the United States. The one for the base model carries firmware version X730XXS5AZB8, and that for the Ultra model carries firmware version X930XXS5AZB8. The updates for both tablets are 312.86MB in size.

The February 2026 patch addresses 37 security vulnerabilities. present in the previous version of the OS, improving overall system security. To install the update, head to Settings > Software update > Download and install. We expect Samsung to release these updates in other countries in the next few days.

On a related note, Samsung recently opened the One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. Based on Android 16 QPR2, it introduces a refreshed user interface along with several new features. Users who prefer stability over early access will need to wait a few more weeks for the stable release.
