After the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S24, Samsung is now rolling out the June 2025 security patch to the Galaxy S23 series. For now, the brand is offering the update to the variants of the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra that it sells in its home country, South Korea, which have model numbers SM-S911N, SM-S916N, and SM-S918N, respectively.

The updates for the three phones carry firmware versions S911NKSS6DYE5, S916NKSS6DYE5, and S918NKSS6DYE5, respectively, and are 443.05MB in size (via @ya_sking12767). The June 2025 security patch fixes many security issues that you can check out here. Considering that Samsung has released the update in Korea, we expect it to offer it in other regions soon.

Samsung may release the Android 16 (One UI 8.0) update for the Galaxy S23 soon

Speaking of software updates, Samsung is testing Android 16-based One UI 8.0 on the Galaxy S25 series, and the Galaxy S23 lineup is eligible to get it. Once the testing is complete, the brand will release its stable version to all the eligible devices. Unfortunately, we don’t know when.
