Right on cue, Samsung today detailed the September 2025 security patch, a day after Google revealed what all is included in the latest Android security maintenance release.

Samsung's version also includes fixes for the vulnerabilities that were discovered and fixed in the company's own software.

Latest security patch incoming for Galaxy devices​


The security maintenance release for the month of September 2025 includes fixes for two critical and dozes of high risk vulnerabilities that were patched in the Android operating system. In addition to that, the update also brings fixes for 25 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures items.

One such vulnerability allowed for improper access control in One UI Home on Android 14 and Android 15-powered devices. It enabled attackers to bypass the kiosk mode under select conditions.

Others have patched vulnerabilities related to improper handling of permissions, access control, out-of-bounds write, and more.

Some vulnerabilities that couldn't be disclosed at this time, potentially because of the risk they would generate it made public at this time, have also be fixed in this latest monthly security patch.

Samsung has now begun rolling out the September 2025 security maintenance release to eligible devices. It will be released for all devices on the monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual update release timelines.
