Samsung said it plans to launch its first extended reality (XR) headset before the end of this year, and it seems like the company is preparing for its release. As the launch draws near, the company has revealed a feature that will come to Galaxy XR headsets and will help it compete with Apple's Vision Pro.
The latest version (4.0.0.3) of the Camera Assistant app has revealed that Galaxy XR headsets can capture 3D images and videos, just like Apple's Vision Pro headset. There is a new option in the Camera Assistant app to make that happen. Strangely, this new version of the Camera Assistant app is only available on the Galaxy S25 FE but the feature doesn't show up. We had to transfer the APK to our Galaxy S25 Ultra to see this new option.

As you can see in the screenshot above, Galaxy XR headsets will be able to capture 3D (spatial) photos and videos, and the Camera Assistant app will add an option in the headset's Camera app with the new option. Clearly, Samsung is in the midst of finishing up the development of this feature before the launch of its first Galaxy XR headset.
