After bringing the One UI software to its smart TVs and monitors, Samsung has announced that One UI is coming to its Wi-Fi-enabled home appliances like refrigerators and washers as well. The company has also announced a seven-year software update policy for its home appliances, just like it did for its smartphones and TVs last year.
Ahead of the upcoming IFA 2025 expo in Berlin, Samsung has announced that it is bringing One UI to home appliances, including dryers, Eco Heating System (EHS) devices, kitchen ranges (stoves/ovens), refrigerators, and washers/washing machines. The software with a modern UI will come to the company's Wi-Fi-enabled home appliances that feature touchscreen displays, offering you a consistent software experience.
Home appliances launched in 2024 or later will get One UI through a software update, starting in September 2025, while future appliances will come pre-loaded with the Tizen OS-based One UI software. These devices will also get improved versions of Bixby, Samsung TV Plus, and SmartThings. Features like Family Care, Home Care, and Pet Care will be available on SmartThings-enabled appliances.

Samsung's Wi-Fi-enabled home appliances with displays launched in 2026 will also get Now Brief, a feature that debuted with the Galaxy S25 series earlier this year. It delivers personalized and revelant information, such as daily weather updates, family schedule, home insights, and even recipes tailored to your dietary preferences.
Refrigerators with the AI Vision Inside feature launched this year can now recognize up to 37 types of food items after an upcoming update.

The upgraded Bixby voice assistant, powered by large language models (LLMs) and featuring Voice ID, will come to Samsung's home appliances. Bixby can be summoned by double-tapping the touchscreen. Voice ID can distinguish between each family member's voice and offer them personalized answers accordingly.
Air conditioners, dryers, EHS, slide-in induction cooking ranges, and washers with Wi-Fi launched in 2024 or later will also get Knox Matrix, a private block chain technology that improves the security of all the devices on the network. Such devices will monitor each other's security status in real-time via a Trust Chain and display that information to you via Knox Dashboard.
Refrigerators with a 9-inch AI Home screen or a 32-inch Family Hub screen will also get support for encrypted Credential Sync and Passkeys.

Washing machines with 7-inch touchscreen displays will get support for eight additional local languages in India.
