Samsung has announced that it has begun using an advanced screen repair method at two additional locations. This method, which is used to repair screens of Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold series phones, reduces the cost of screen repairs, while also supporting the company’s efforts in component recycling.
Samsung Electronics Service, which handles after-sales support and repairs for Samsung devices, has expanded its ‘Foldable Phone Display Unit Repair' service to two more service centers in South Korea: Masan in Gyeongsangnam-do and Yeongju in Gyeongsangbuk-do. This advanced repair process replaces only the necessary components instead of the entire display unit. However, it takes roughly twice as long as a full display replacement.

The repair method was first introduced in 2024, and its adoption has increased 5x since then. As a result, consumers have collectively saved approximately KRW 8 billion, or about $5.4 million.
With this expansion, the service is now available at 160 of Samsung’s 169 service centers in South Korea. The process requires specialized repair equipment and highly skilled engineers. Samsung is currently the only company in the industry offering single-component repairs for foldable smartphone displays.

Park Sung-jae, Senior Vice President and Head of the Samsung Electronics Service Technology Team, said, “We are enhancing the service experience for Galaxy users through individual display repairs. We will continue to provide services that meet the needs of our customers’ daily lives.”
