Samsung's One UI 8.0 roll out has been chugging along nicely. There weren't any reports of bugs or issues that spoiled the party right out the gate like we saw with the One UI 7.0 release earlier this year.

There does appear to be one issue, but fortunately, it only impacts one Galaxy Z Fold phone that was not widely released. Samsung has reportedly halted the roll out as it addresses the matter.

Galaxy Z Fold SE owners will have to wait a bit more

It was highlighted on X that Samsung has pulled the One UI 8.0 update for the Galaxy Z Fold SE from its servers. It released One UI 8.0 for the device last week. As you may remember, the Galaxy Z Fold SE or Special Edition was launched last year with some tweaks, including the lack of S Pen support.

Several users posted about a bug on Samsung's official forums for South Korea that messes up touch screen input once the Galaxy Z Fold SE is updated to One UI 8.0. Given that this significantly impacts the user experience on the device, it's not surprising to see that Samsung has halted the roll out temporarily as it addresses the issue.

Samsung only made the Galaxy Z Fold SE available in a handful of markets and that too in limited quantities, so this disruption isn't going to bother a lot of people. This should be an easy fix and we'll likely see the roll out being resumed for the Galaxy Z Fold SE in a few days.
