Last week, Samsung released a software update for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra that offered the January 2026 security patch, which fixes 55 security issues. However, the brand offered it only in its home country, South Korea. Well, the company has now started rolling it out in more regions.

Samsung has started rolling out the Galaxy S25’s January 2026 security update in Europe. The update is 569.04MB in size and carries firmware version S93xBXXS7BYLR (via Tarun Vats). To get it, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. We expect Samsung to release it in other regions very soon.

Speaking of software updates for the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung is expected to release the fourth beta version of One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2) for the three devices in the lineup this week. The new software brings many visual and functional upgrades, which you can check out in our video below.

To get the beta version of One UI 8.5, you will have to enrol in the beta program. However, note that it may have issues that can hinder standard functionality. Samsung is expected to release the stable version of the new software soon after launching the Galaxy S26 series, which could arrive in February.
