Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S26 series in late February 2026. While the company is likely to begin taking pre-orders on the same day in at least some markets, it is reportedly trying to avoid launching its upcoming flagship phones on Friday the 13th.

According to a report from News1 Korea, Samsung has set March 11, 2026, as the launch date for the Galaxy S26. It is said to be avoiding March 13 (Friday), as Friday the 13th is considered unlucky in Western countries. Following the announcement on February 25, the pre-sale period for customers who reserve the devices is expected to last seven days (February 26 to March 4). The general pre-sale period would then begin on March 5.

By comparison, the Galaxy S25 series was announced on January 22. Its pre-sale period lasted 11 days, from January 24 to February 3, followed by a three-day pre-order window from February 4 to February 6. The phones started reaching customers and store shelves starting February 7.

While pricing for the Galaxy S25 series remained unchanged compared to the Galaxy S24 lineup, Samsung is rumored to be considering higher prices for the Galaxy S26 series due to the ongoing memory chip shortage.
