Samsung launched a lot of big ticket products this year, but it's not done yet. We're still waiting on the Project Moohan XR headset as well as Samsung's long-rumored tri-fold phone. The company has acknowledged the phone's existence on occasion and provided a vague timeline as to when we can see it hit the market.

Amid rumors that the phone may be launched in the near future, the head of Samsung's mobile division has reiterated when we can expect to see the device.

Samsung's most expensive phone yet is coming soon

Speaking to the media at IFA in Berlin, Roh touched on Samsung's plans for next-generation products, which include the company's tri-fold phone. The company hasn't confirmed the name as yet but rumor has it that it may be called the Galaxy Z TriFold.

Roh said that the development of this device is in the “final stage,” adding that the company plans to release the device “by the end of this year.” There's no concrete date as yet but given that the end of the year is barely three months away, we won't have to wait for too long.

Don't expect the device to be available globally, though. Reports suggest that Samsung will simply test the market with the first iteration of this device by making it available in limited quantities and only in select markets.

The second iteration would likely be improved and is going to see a wider launch at some point next year. No word as yet on pricing, but given the at the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is already at $1,999, the trifold's price tag will certainly be north of $2,000.
