The short codenames M1, M2, and M3 have been associated with the upcoming Galaxy S26 series for months, but until now, nobody knew exactly what the letter M stood for. Miraculously, now we know.
Pun indeed intended. The M letter stands for “Miracle,” as discovered by our colleagues at GalaxyClub. It turns out that the upcoming phones probably aren't codenamed NPA, or Next Paradigm, even though the S25 series is codenamed Paradigm.
What does it all mean? In the end, not much. The fact that Samsung is referring to the Galaxy S26 series by the codename Miracle behind closed doors doesn't reveal anything about the phones themselves.
You could interpret it in different ways and lend various meanings to the codename. Maybe Samsung hopes for a miracle next year. Or perhaps the Galaxy S26 phones will be miraculously different than their predecessors, which some rumors have suggested in the past.
What's almost certain is that Samsung will announce the Galaxy S26 series early next year. But exactly what the series will bring is still unclear.
Some previous reports said that Samsung may replace the Plus model with the Galaxy S26 Edge, but now, the unofficial narrative appears to be taking a different turn. More recent reports suggest that the S26 series may, in fact, consist of the usual base, Plus, and Ultra models. Is that the final answer? Who knows at this point?! Furthermore, the future of the Edge remains highly uncertain.
It's a miracle that the Galaxy S26 series is still shrouded in mystery when we're this close to the alleged launch. Samsung is expected to announce the S26 lineup in just a few months. And there are plenty more puzzle pieces that haven't yet fallen into place.
