There are concerns among S Pen fans that the stylus may be on its way out. Some of Samsung's recent moves don't give much confidence that the company attaches as much importance to the S Pen as it once did.

Amid fears that the Galaxy S26 Ultra may do away with the stylus altogether, it seems S Pen fans don't have to fear the worst, at least for now.

The can has been kicked down the road

Samsung's decision to remove Bluetooth features on the Galaxy S25 Ultra's S Pen got the vocal minority riled up, but the device still performed very well in the market, showcasing that if its otherwise a solid option, the S Pen alone isn't enough to influence purchase decisions for most customers.

The company went a step further and removed S Pen support from the Galaxy Z Fold 7. With the Galaxy S26 Ultra's design change expected to move it further away from the Galaxy Note DNA, some fans are rightly worried about this means for the future of the S Pen.

There have been a string a leaks that suggests it's not something to worry about. The S Pen chamber can be made out very clearly in one of those leaks, providing a level of surety to fans that at least next year's flagship phone will retain the S Pen.

Its eventual demise remains a topic of concern, though. Samsung's renewed focus on making phones as thin as possible might mean that if not now, perhaps a few years down the line, the inevitable may end up happening.
