Quick Share is an Android feature available on devices powered by Google's mobile platform, including Samsung Galaxy devices. It allows for quick and secure file sharing between devices.

The transfers have been limited to Android devices so far but Google today announced a major update which enables Quick Share transfers between Android and Apple's AirDrop.

File transfers between Android and Apple devices to become easier

Google has announced that it's rolling out the change today. It's limited to Google's Pixel 10 devices right now but it's likely that we'll see support on other Android devices, including those from Samsung, in the near future.

This will greatly simplify file transfers between Android and iPhone devices. Google says that it has built this functionality with security at its core, implementing strong safeguards to protect data that have been verified by independent security experts.

Samsung previously had a similar file sharing feature called Nearby Share. It was one of things that Samsung made its own version for even though Google already offered the feature on Android. Last year, Google and Samsung merged Nearby Share and Quick Share, choosing the latter moniker for the feature.

It has now been available across all Android devices, hence the very real possibility that this latest Quick Share update will also simplify file sharing between Samsung and Apple devices via Quick Share and AirDrop.
