Earlier this month, Samsung’s upcoming Wear OS 6-based One UI 8 Watch for Galaxy Watches leaked (along with its upcoming Android 16-based One UI 8.0 for Galaxy phones). Since then, people have been digging into it to find new features. Today, they’ve come across a new one, and that is, when you place these smartwatches on a charger, it will show a new animation.

One UI 8 Watch comes pre-loaded with the Samsung Diagnostic app. Folks at Android Authority conducted its teardown and found that it contains an animation for Galaxy Watches to show when you place them on a charger. It is entirely different from the animation that One UI 6 Watch offers for the same scenario. You can check it out in the image below.

As you can see, while One UI 6 Watch displays charging indication and status with a green circle around the display, One UI 8 Watch shows a pill-shaped container with a charging indicator and battery percentage. If you are thinking that it looks similar to the charging animation in One UI 7 for Galaxy phones and tablets, you aren’t wrong.

In our opinion, the new animation not only looks much better than the one from before but also offers a consistent look across phones/tablets and smartwatches. At the moment, there's no information about when Samsung will release One UI 8 Watch. You can check if your Galaxy Watch is eligible for the update or not here.
