Samsung's high-end phones come with several AI features, including Call Assist, Call Captions, and Transcript Assist. These three AI-powered features are related to voice calls and voice recordings. In the future, Samsung could bring one more voice-related AI feature called Voice Captioning, and it could come with One UI 8.0.
One UI 8.0 has a new feature called Voice Captioning, but it is only available on compatible Galaxy devices in China. The feature, which was discovered by GalaxyTechie, offers real-time speech to text conversion in multiple languages. And it works across live conversation, video calls, and voice calls.

Besides captioning, it can even translate speech into different languages. So, it is better than Call Assist, which works only during voice calls. It can also summarise captioned text. Saving recorded and translated voice and renaming those files are also possible.

Even though this feature is available only in China, you can install its APK file (download via Google Drive) on a compatible phone running One UI 7.0 or One UI 8.0. From what we can see, the feature is crashing for some Galaxy users.

After installing the APK file, you need to add the Voice Captioning quick setting toggle in the Quick Panel of your compatible Galaxy smartphone and allow it the necessary permissions. You also need to choose all the necessary languages for translation before it can work.
Since this feature isn't available officially outside of China, it might not work even on compatible Galaxy smartphones and tablets. It could be released globally with the stable One UI 8.0 or One UI 8.5 update in the coming months. However, nothing has been set in stone, and it all depends on Samsung's decisions in the end.
