After releasing the One UI 8.0 beta update for six more Galaxy phones yesterday, Samsung has released the beta update for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 that was launched two years ago. Besides Android 16, the new update brings several new and improved features to the foldable phone.
The One UI 8 Beta Program is now open (via @tarunvats33) for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 in South Korea, and users who want to beta-test the Android 16-based software on their phone can now do that by enrolling into the beta program. The update could be released in other markets, including India, the UK, and the USA very soon. It brings new and improved features as well as the September 2025 security patch to the phone.

In South Korea, this beta program is available for factory-unlocked and carrier-locked versions of the phone on LGU+, KT, and SKT networks. Moreover, Samsung has mentioned that people can download this update only via a Wi-Fi network. It has also warned that this beta update could have bugs and errors, so it is important to back up all your important data if you want to install this software.
If you have a Galaxy Z Flip 5 and live in South Korea, you can beta-test One UI 8.0 on your phone by installing the latest version of the Samsung Members app, logging into the app using the same Samsung account that you are using as your phone's main account, and tap on the One UI 8 Beta Program notice related to your phone.
Once your phone is enrolled into the beta program, navigate to Settings » Software » Download and install on your device. After the update is downloaded, tap the Install now button. The phone will then restart after a few minutes and you can then start using the beta version of One UI 8.0.
