If there are apps you need to use that tend to spam ads through notifications, One UI 8.5 may finally have a solution to this problem.

It appears that Samsung is going to provide a feature with One UI 8.5 where apps that deliver excessive ads through notifications will be blocked automatically.

As highlighted on X, One UI 8.5 brings a new feature called “Block apps with excessive ads” available through the Device care settings menu. The way it works is by putting apps that send frequent ad notifications in deep sleep.

One UI 8.5 will automatically take care of these irritating notifications

When an app is in deep sleep, it can't wake itself up unless you launch the app manually, it won't run in the background or send any notifications. Only unused apps are put in deep sleep by One UI currently, this feature will extend it to apps that bother you through excessive ad notifications.

The feature has an Intelligent blocking option as well where the device will analyze the content of these notifications to determine if they're ads and block them if they're too frequent. This feature will go a long way in making users' lives better, because nobody likes spammy notifications.

It will prove to be quite useful, as long as users don't need to frequently use the apps that send these notifications. Launching them brings them out of deep sleep and then they can sending notifications all over again.
