Following the rollout of the stable One UI 8 update today, a new app from Samsung has also emerged, and it's only compatible with devices running the latest firmware update.

The Gallery Assistant app has only been made available in beta currently. Signs ups are live in South Korea, with the stable version likely arriving in the near future.

Samsung's Gallery Assistant app is compatible with devices running One UI 8. The list of eligible devices currently mentions the Galaxy S25 lineup, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Z Flip 7. It remains to be seen if the stable version will be more widely available once One UI 8 is released for all eligible devices.

Batch editing is one of the core features of this app. It enables users to make edits to multiple images and videos simultaneously, thereby simplifying the process if the user wants to apply certain changes to multiple items. There are also new utility functions in the app that further simplify the editing process through the app.

The company may add more features to the app down the line once the initial tests on the beta are wrapped up. It's unclear when we'll see a wider release of the app's beta version beyond South Korea.

Samsung is allowing users to register as testers for Gallery Assistant beta through the Members app. Interested users can sign up through the App Beta section in Members.
