For many years now, Samsung has been launching every new Galaxy S lineup with three phones, a regular model, a Plus variant, and the Ultra version. For example, Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. According to reports, that won’t be case with the Galaxy S26 series.
The Galaxy S26 lineup is expected to offer Pro, Edge, and Ultra models (Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra). Well, a popular tipster has shed light on the upgrades the Galaxy S26 Pro may offer and says that the phone doesn’t deserve the Pro tag as it lacks major upgrades.
On X, @UniverseIce says that the Galaxy S26 Pro will offer only two major upgrades. First, a new primary camera over the Galaxy S25. Second, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor instead of a 12MP unit in its predecessor. Other aspects of the device, including the 10MP telephoto camera and a display with Full HD+ resolution will remain the same as the current model. Considering that it will bring only two, not-so-significant upgrades, the tipster says that the Galaxy S26 Pro doesn’t deserve the Pro moniker. But, that’s not entirely true.

The Galaxy S26 Pro may also offer a much more powerful processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or the Exynos 2600, and a larger battery. Some may say that even those upgrades don’t justify Samsung giving the phone a Pro tag. However, one shouldn’t just consider the upgrades a phone is offering. They should also take into account all the features it offers. When you do that, the Galaxy S26 Pro name may not look so ridiculous after all, because it offers a flagship grade hardware (except for a periscope camera).
