How to Instal Android 2.3.3 onto Google Nexus One

There are many people out there who still have not updated their Nexus One smart phones, despite so many guides out there because none of guide provided as much detail and simple “English” wording as we hope to in an attempt to encourage the people to upgrade.

So here is a guide on How-To install the Android OS platform 2.3.3 on your Nexus One. The OS 2.3.3 was released on February 25th, 2011.

You need the following items in order to complete this guide successfully :
Android 2.3.3 (GR140)
Nexus One
USB Cable (for the Nexus One)
SD card

Instructions :

The very first step is to download the Android 2.3.3 file which has been given above so that you can install it on your Nexus One

Once the file is downloaded, rename the filename to “Update.zip” (keeping the .zip file format file alive)

Now, connect your Nexus One to the USB cable to your computer and open up the SD card

Copy the “Update.zip” file we renamed and saved in the first step on the root of the SD card (it’s main area)

Turn the Nexus One off after doing so

Now, time to take your Nexus One into bootloader menu. To do this, follow the below given procedure:
Turn the Nexus One on by pressing and holding down the “Power” and “Trackball” button
Now, navigate to the bootloader menu by using the increase volume button and selecting it using the “Power” button (press only – do not hold)

Once you see the “!” (Exclamation) mark on the screen you can be assured that your Nexus One has entered the bootloader menu. Now, once you see the sign, press the “Volume Up” button and the “Power” button

Now, select the “Apply sdcard:update.zip” option and let the phone do its work as it continues to extract the file on itself and upgrade the OS Android platform of your Nexus One.

Once the process is complete, you can reboot your and once you see the “Homescreen” you can be assured that the Android version 2.3.3 has been installed on your OS.

To check, please go into the Settings menu and check it out.
