Last week, Samsung took the wraps off its first smartphone with a tri-folding display. However, the brand neither revealed the device’s name (the company is expected to launch it as the Galaxy Z TriFold) nor shed light on its features, price, and availability. Furthermore, the tech giant displayed it in a glass showcase box from a distance, keeping people from knowing more about it.
However, some people managed to determine the thickness of the Galaxy Z TriFold, and now, it turns out that some even managed to check out the phone from all angles, giving us more information about its displays, folding mechanism, cameras, speakers, microphones, and power and volume buttons. Let’s take a look.
On YouTube, OMG Electronics and SUBUSUNEWS have posted a video showcasing the Galaxy Z TriFold from all sides. You can check it out below.
As you can see in the video above, the Galaxy Z TriFold has two displays, one on the outside and one on the inside. The channel reports that the cover display measures 6.5 inches, whereas the foldable screen, when unfolded, is 10 inches. As expected, both the foldable sections of the Galaxy Z TriFold fold inwards, protecting the display from the outside world.

In comparison, the only other phone with a tri-folding display, the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate, has a single screen, which is used as a cover display as well as a foldable display. It means that among the phone’s two foldable sections, one folds inward and the other folds outward, exposing the foldable screen to the outside world, making it more prone to damage.

Both displays of the Galaxy Z TriFold seem to have thicker bezels compared to those on the Galaxy Z Fold 7. When Samsung launched the first-generation Galaxy Z Fold, it had very thick bezels, but over the years, the brand cut down the bezel size massively, and now it is on par with that of non-foldable phones. That could be the case with the Galaxy Z TriFold, too.
Among the phone’s two hinges, one has a shorter radius and the other has a longer radius, as it needs to accommodate the first foldable section. When unfolded, the Galaxy Z TriFold looks thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and when folded, it looks slightly thicker than the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

The rear camera setup looks similar to the one on the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The channel reports that it could also have the same sensors. So, expect to see a 200MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. As for selfies, the phone has two front-facing cameras, one on the cover display and one on the foldable display. Both screens have a punch-hole to house these cameras.
