Our colleagues at imeisource's YouTube channel have got their hands on a beta One UI 8.5 firmware and release a video detailing some of the new AI features in Samsung's next major upgrade.

Samsung hasn't officially launched the One UI 8.5 beta program as yet but it may do in the near future. It's expected to formally launch One UI 8.5 early next year, likely after the Galaxy S26 series is released.

Now nudges is one of the new AI features in One UI 8.5. The feature exists on the firmware but it doesn't do much right now, but we expect that to change in future builds. Now nudges is basically Galaxy AI helping you get things done quickly by understanding what's on your screen and suggesting relevant actions.

For example, you can jump from a message where someone has told you where they are to a map that shows details about that location. Nudges may be shown to start translation when you're viewing something in another language. Nudges will also be displayed when using messaging and social media apps like WhatsApp and Facebook.

There are a couple of camera modes that are missing in this build as well which will no doubt be added back down the line. It just goes to show that this is a very early version of the beta and perhaps not the one that gets rolled out when the program launches. See the full video below for a more in-depth look at this One UI 8.5 beta build.

According to the latest reports, Samsung may launch the One UI 8.5 beta on December 8, with the United States, United Kingdom, South Korea, and Germany getting it in the first phase.
