The commercial release of Samsung's last VR headset, the Gear VR, happened just over 10 years ago. Now, a decade later, Samsung is preparing to rejoin the VR segment with a brand-new product. It's dubbed Project Moohan, also known as Galaxy XR, and it will be unveiled this month.

The launch event will take place virtually. It is scheduled for October 21, and everyone around the world will be able to watch the reveal. Here's where you can watch it.

Samsung will livestream the Galaxy Event on October 21 at 10 PM ET / 7 PM CST / 5 PM PST / 4 AM CEST. Once it goes live, you can watch the livestream from the YouTube window embedded below.

You can also visit Samsung's official YouTube page to watch the show there or check out the company's global newsroom page for a live feed.

If you want to be an early supporter of what might become the VR/XR revolution, you can pre-register your interest in this upcoming headset on Samsung's e-shop, and the company will reward you with a $100 discount.

The Galaxy XR headset was developed by Samsung, Qualcomm, and Google. It is powered by a Qualcomm chip and runs the Android XR operating system. The headset will be a direct competitor to the Apple Vision Pro.

Unlike traditional VR headsets, the Galaxy XR has passthrough cameras and will allow users to see the real world, all the while launching floating apps and windows that can float or be pinned to objects in the real world.

Samsung, Qualcomm, and Google have been working on the XR headset for the past few years. Although a couple of early prototypes have been demoed at tech shows before, this will be the first time we'll see the final product and learn about pricing and availability.
