Hard Reset - DROID by MOTOROLA

Performing a hard reset will remove ALL data including the Google account, system data, application data, application settings, and downloaded applications. Only perform this reset if absolutely necessary.

Will be shown both the way for doing this: Peferred and alternate method


Preferred method
  1. From the home screen, select the applications tab (located at the bottom).

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Select Privacy.

  4. Select Factory data reset.

  1. Select Erase Everything.

  2. Do again the same procedure of initial setting as for a new phone

Alternate Method
  1. With the device powered off, slide the keyboard open.

  2. Press the Power key and the X key simultaneously until the Recovery screen appears.

    The Recovery screen displays a graphic of an exclamation point within a triangle.

  3. Press and hold the Volume up key then press the Camera key.

    When the Recovery menu screen appears, release the keys.

  4. Using the Volume keys, select Wipe data factory Reset.

  5. Press the center of 5-way navigation pad.

  6. Using the Volume keys, select Yes -- delete all user data.
  7. Press the center of 5-way navigation pad.
  8. Using the Volume keys select Reboot system now.
  9. Press the center of 5-way navigation pad.
  10. Do again the same procedure of initial setting as for a new phone
