During the announcement of the Galaxy S26 series a couple of weeks ago, Google and Samsung showcased Geminiâs advanced capabilities. The AI-powered assistant can automate tasks such as booking a cab or ordering food. The feature was not available at the time, but it has now gone live in select markets.
Geminiâs task automation feature, also known as screen automation, is now available on the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. The feature currently works with food delivery and rideshare apps, and support for more types of apps is expected in the future. When you ask Gemini to order dinner through Uber Eats or book a ride using Uber, the AI assistant completes those tasks for you in a virtual window. It can even run in the background while you use other apps on your phone.
The process stops just before the final step, where you need to confirm the ride or pay for the food. Gemini then sends a notification so you can complete the final action. All of this is powered by the Gemini 3 AI model.

Currently, this feature works with a limited number of partner apps:
Instacart is expected to be added to the list of supported apps in the near future. Google also said it will expand Geminiâs task automation support to more apps and service providers in the coming months. The feature will also be available on Googleâs upcoming Pixel 10 series.
