Samsung’s latest smartphone with a book-style foldable display, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, not only brings massive upgrades over its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, but is also arguably the best device in the segment. With that, it was an instant hit and broke many sales records. Well, a new report says that it has not only achieved even more sales milestones but has also made phones with foldable screens go mainstream.
According to Counterpoint Research's new market analysis, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has become Samsung’s fastest-selling foldable phone in Western Europe. In the first four weeks of the launch, the brand sold more than a quarter of a million units of the device, which is twice that of its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, and 70% more than that of the company’s previous best-selling foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 4.

In fact, the sales of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in the first four weeks of its launch were higher than those of every other smartphone with a book-style or a clamshell foldable display from every brand to date. But those aren’t the best parts.
According to the research firm, the success of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has “pushed foldable smartphones into the mass market” and made phones with foldable displays mainstream, at least in the Western European market.
In other words, Samsung and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 have prepared the market for upcoming phones with foldable displays, not just from the South Korean tech giant but also from other brands, including Apple’s foldable iPhone.
