Samsung’s latest smartphone with a book-style foldable display, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, is arguably the best in the segment. However, to prove its supremacy, it will have to beat one more device, Apple’s upcoming phone with a book-style foldable display, which is expected to arrive as the iPhone Fold. Well, it looks like the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is already halfway there.

According to a post on Weibo, Samsung’s upcoming foldable iPhone has a thickness of 9.5mm to 10mm (most likely when closed/folded), and weighs 255 grams (via Phone Arena). In comparison, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 is 8.2mm thick and weighs 215 grams. So, in the thickness and weight department, the South Korean tech giant has already won the game.

That being said, Apple has always been behind in terms of specifications, and people still buy its products. We don’t think it would be any different with the iPhone Fold. Most average users don’t care about a few millimetres and grams. Plus, Apple fans have been waiting for this phone for a long time. So, despite its shortcomings (and a hefty price tag), the device will be sold in high numbers.

For people who care about thickness, weight, and aesthetics, which are mostly tech enthusiasts, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be the clear winner, at least in terms of design and ergonomics. For people looking for even more tech-savvy phones, there's Samsung's Galaxy Z TriFold.
