Samsung has started this week with a bang. After releasing the One UI 8 beta update for the Galaxy A35, Galaxy A36, Galaxy A54, Galaxy A55, and the Galaxy S23 series yesterday, the company has now opened the One UI 8 Beta Program for the Galaxy Z Fold 5. The update was also released to the Galaxy Z Flip 5 earlier today.

Galaxy Z Fold 5 gets first One UI 8 beta update

The One UI 8 Beta Program for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is now live (via @tarunvats33) in South Korea, so interested users can now register their device to beta-test the Android 16-based software. This is a major update that brings a new version of Android and several new and improved features to the foldable phone. It also brings the September 2025 security patch to make the phone more secure.

The beta program could open in India, the UK, and the USA very soon. So, if you are living in any of those countries, keep checking our website for the related information. You can check the beta program announcement in the screenshot below.

If you have a Galaxy Z Fold 5 and live in South Korea, you can beta-test the new software by installing the latest version of the Samsung Members app, logging into it using the same Samsung account you are using on your Galaxy Z Fold 5, navigating to the One UI 8 Beta Program notice in the app, and completing the enrolment procedure.

Once the phone is enrolled into the beta program, you can check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update » Download and install. After the update is finished downloading, tap the Install now button. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 will restart after a few minutes and then you can start using the beta version of One UI 8.0.
