Last week, Samsung released a software update to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 that offered the June 2025 security patch, which fixed many security issues. The brand had made it available for the international variant of the phone. Now, the company has released the update for the factory-unlocked and carrier-locked variants of the phone for the United States of America, which have model numbers SM-F926U1 and SM-F926U.

The update for the factory-unlocked model carries firmware version F926USQSCKYF3 and that for the carrier-locked version carries firmware version F926U1UESCKYF3. To update your Galaxy Z Fold 3 to the latest firmware, go to Settings » Software update » Download and install. You can also get it from our database and install it manually using Samsung’s Odin tool. We recommend you to backup your data before taking the second route.

Galaxy Z Fold 3 will not get the Android 16 (One UI 8.0) update

While we are on the subject of software updates, it is worth mentioning that Samsung is developing Android 16-based One UI 8.0, which offers many new features. Unfortunately, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 isn’t eligible to get it.

If that is making you think of getting a new smartphone, and one with a book-style foldable display like your current model, you should take a look at Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is arriving on 9 July 2025.
