Reports indicate that Samsung could launch three new foldable phones in the second half of this year. They will be the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and the wider variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 8. The camera specifications of the Galaxy Z Flip 8 have leaked for the first time, and they might disappoint you.
GalaxyClub claims that the Galaxy Z Flip 8 will have a 10MP selfie camera, a 50MP primary rear-facing camera, and a 12MP ultrawide camera. That is exactly similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 7, which was launched around six months ago. It is surprising to see Samsung not upgrading to a 12MP selfie camera on its upcoming flip-style foldable phone, even though its recent Galaxy A and Galaxy S phones have been upgraded to a 12MP front-facing camera.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 features a 200MP primary camera, while the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to feature a 50MP ultrawide camera. It means while the Galaxy Z Fold series is receiving two camera upgrades in two years, while the Galaxy Z Flip series isn't getting any.
Maybe Samsung thinks that those who want better selfies can capture them using the Galaxy Z Flip 8's 50MP camera using the cover display. It might be focus on spending that money on improving other aspects of the phone, such as using a bigger battery or having a slimmer design.
