Samsung has been slowly increasing the screen size of its Galaxy Ultra phones over the past few years. It pushed the limits with the Galaxy S25 Ultra by offering a 6.86-inch display and reducing the bezels. Now, it is rumored that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will have an even bigger screen.
Reliable tipster Ice Universe claims that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will have a 6.89-inch display. That is slightly bigger than the Galaxy S25 Ultra's 6.86-inch display. And Samsung has reportedly achieved this without increasing the phone's width (77.6mm) by slimmed down the bezels around the screen.
Some rough calculations reveal that the upcoming Ultra phone will likely have bezels that are just 1.15mm thin, which is an improvement compared to the Galaxy S25 Ultra's 1.2mm thin bezels. So, like Apple, Samsung is continuing to reduce the bezels around the screens of its phones. It makes them look even more futuristic.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra's display will reportedly feature a Color Filter on Encapsulation (CoE) OLED panel. It offers a brighter, lighter, and thinner display by removing the traditional polarizer with a color filter and switching the conventional pixel definition layer (PDL) with a black PDL. It results in a screen that can be brighter without consuming more power, thereby increasing the phone's battery life. It is already being used in Galaxy Z Fold series phones.

Samsung has been slimming down its phones over the years. Devices like the Galaxy S25 Edge and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 are some of the world's thinnest smartphones. It is rumored to make its future phones even thinner and lighter. And its resistance to using bigger cameras and batteries is a part of that ideology.
Unlike Chinese smartphone brands, Samsung will reportedly continue using existing 50MP and 200MP camera sensors in its phones. The company will reportedly look to bringing image and video quality improvements through other methods such as better image processing, variable aperture, and better lenses.
