In November 2025, Google upgraded Android’s Quick Share to work with Apple's AirDrop, available on devices such as iPhone, iPad, and Mac, letting people transfer files from Android devices to Apple devices with ease. However, this feature is available only on Pixel smartphones so far, with Qualcomm hinting that it may come to non-Pixel Android devices soon.
Since upgrading Quick Share with AirDrop support doesn't require special hardware, it was expected that Android phones from other brands, including those from Samsung, would also get the feature, either from Google or phone brands. It looks like the South Korean tech giant will introduce Quick Share with AirDrop support on Galaxy phones starting with the Galaxy S26.
On X, @chunvn8888 has shared a screenshot from what looks like a Samsung smartphone’s Quick Share section, detailing how its users can send and receive files from Apple devices over their AirDrop feature. According to the tipster, this image is from the Galaxy S26 series.

It suggests that on the Galaxy S26 series, Quick Share will be compatible with AirDrop, allowing the phones' users to exchange files with Apple's iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks with ease. If that turns out to be true, it will be Samsung's first phone with AirDrop support.
Will Samsung offer it to older Galaxy phones with a software update? It is highly likely, as offering this feature doesn't require special hardware. The South Korean tech giant may offer the feature with the One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2) update. However, that's just our speculation.
