All signs pointed to strong demand for the Galaxy S25 series when the lineup was launched earlier this year. There was little doubt that the new flagship series will outsell its predecessor.

New figures have emerged which highlight the impressive sales performance of the devices, including the Galaxy S25 Edge, which arrived a few months after the primary models.

Galaxy S25 series easily beats its predecessor in sales volume

The Galaxy S25 series has reportedly sold 22.7 million units in the first six months after launch. Samsung sold 7.22 million units of the basic model, 4.5 million of the Galaxy S25+ and a whopping 10.98 million units of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. They've comprehensively outsold the Galaxy S24 series which achieved a volume of 20.8 million units in the first six months.

Samsung's super slim Galaxy S25 Edge arrived later than the rest in May. It has now crossed the key milestone of a million units sold, 1.01 million to be exact, revealing strong customer interest in slim devices.

The company's focus on delivering slimmer devices is paying dividends. That's one of the reasons why the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has been such a huge hit as well. We may see Samsung lean more into this for the coming iterations.

There's also talk of the Plus model being discontinued in favor of the Edge, so we may see the Galaxy S26 Edge being unveiled alongside the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Ultra early next year. This should further boost sales of the slim model and enable it to cement its place in the flagship lineup.
