Samsung and other OEMs often tease upcoming devices to build up some hype. It's industry practice, but Samsung is far from the greatest offender in this case. Nevertheless, the Galaxy S25 Edge might be the most teased yet elusive Samsung phone in recent history.
When will the Galaxy S25 Edge finally be released? It's really not that simple anymore. Here is what has transpired so far, along with the latest news and rumors.
The Galaxy S25 Edge journey began at Unpacked in January, where Samsung teased the slim phone at a special booth. We saw the demo unit with our own eyes but weren't allowed to touch it. At that time, Samsung said the demo unit might not reflect the final design.
The company did the same at MWC25, where it hung the Galaxy S25 Edge on strings in front of the audience. We were allowed to film it but once again couldn't touch it.
Samsung was clearly trying to generate some hype around the Galaxy S25 Edge, and it even told us it was aiming to launch the phone around April. But at the end of the day, the company wasn't ready to talk about specifics, and now, the ultra-thin phone's launch may have been pushed back.
Recent rumors said the Galaxy S25 Edge would be officially announced and released in April, with one report narrowing down the announcement date to April 15. However, other rumors that cropped up over the past few days hint at a delay to May or even June.
Given this odd timing, the possibility that these recent rumors may have been an April Fool's prank exists. But on a much more serious note, if Samsung has indeed delayed the launch of the Galaxy S25 Edge, it's not hard to imagine that it could have done so because the vice chairman of Samsung Electronics and the head of Device eXperience, Jong-Hee (JH) Han, sadly passed away last week.
