With the launch of the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra, Samsung has also teased another product, which until today had yet to be officially announced. Now, the company has unveiled its thinnest non-foldable smartphone to date: the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.

While the Galaxy S25 Edge shares some similarities with other models in the lineup, it sets itself apart with its innovative construction. Internally known as “Paradigm Slim,” the S25 Edge measures just 5.8 millimeters thick and weighs only 163 grams. This makes it slimmer than any other S25 model and nearly as light as the base version, with only a one-gram difference. Samsung made this possible by using titanium for the frame, just like in the Galaxy S25 Ultra, instead of aluminum.

Big, powerful, and super thin

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge features a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a variable refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz, and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. The front is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, while the back is covered with Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Under the screen sits the same ultrasonic fingerprint scanner found in other Samsung devices, enabling fast and secure unlocking.

When it comes to performance, the Galaxy S25 Edge makes no compromises. Inside, it packs the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, a 3-nanometer chipset that ensures smooth performance for everyday use and gaming alike. The chip is paired with 12 GB of RAM and either 256 or 512 GB of internal storage, depending on the configuration.

Slightly disappointing, at least on paper, is the 3,900 mAh battery powering the device. That’s even less than the 4,000 mAh battery in the base S25 model. Considering the large display and power-hungry, though efficient, chipset, screen time may be shorter compared to the rest of the lineup.

However, Samsung promises intelligent battery management, claiming it “saves energy when it can.” We’ll find out how it holds up in daily use during our full review. The phone supports charging at up to 25 watts via cable, or 15 watts wirelessly.

Unlike the Galaxy S25 and S25+, which come with a 50 MP main camera, the Galaxy S25 Edge stands out by featuring the same 200 MP sensor found in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. This enables the Edge to deliver incredibly sharp, high-contrast photos both during the day and at night.

Accompanying the main sensor is a 12 MP ultra-wide camera, perfect for capturing expansive scenes. However, the device lacks a telephoto lens — likely due to its ultra-slim design. Including a third camera would have further limited the already small battery capacity.

While some users may find this disappointing, the 200 MP sensor still offers strong digital zoom capabilities, making up for the missing hardware with high-resolution crop potential.

Although Samsung is currently developing Android 16 and One UI 8, the Galaxy S25 Edge ships with Android 15 and One UI 7 out of the box. Samsung promises up to seven years of Android updates and security patches, making the phone a long-term investment.

As with other recent Galaxy devices, the S25 Edge comes with a full suite of Galaxy AI features, including Call Assistant, Webpage Summary, Note Assist, Circle to Search, Gemini integration, and more.

The Galaxy S25 Edge also includes the latest in connectivity, featuring Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC for mobile payments. With an IP68 rating, the phone is water- and dust-resistant, so you can take it in the shower or even to the pool without worry.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is available for pre-order starting today, priced at €1,249 or €1,369 depending on the storage option. It comes in three colors: Titanium Silver, Titanium Icy Blue, and Titanium Jet Black. The device will officially be available in stores starting May XX.

While the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge may not be for everyone, it’s undoubtedly a fascinating device that feels incredibly premium, lightweight, and slim in the hand. What truly sets it apart, in my opinion, is its unique design and compact form factor.

From the front, it looks nearly identical to the Galaxy S25+ – but the moment you pick it up, you can literally feel the engineering effort Samsung put into creating such a remarkably thin device. This gives reason to hope that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 might follow suit with similarly slim designs.
