A new software update has started rolling out to the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra. This update brings the June 2025 security patch to the three-year-old flagship lineup. Korea is the first market to get this update, but we expect Samsung to kick off a wider rollout in the next few days.

Except for the latest security fixes, this update will not add or change anything on your phone. However, if you are facing any bugs on One UI 7.0, the update could fix them, though you will only find out after installing it.

To download this update on your phone, head into its Settings » Software update menu and tap the Download and install button. Alternatively, download Galaxy S22 firmware from imeisource and use a Windows PC to install it on the phone.

What will the next software update bring to the Galaxy S22 lineup? It won't be One UI 8 (Android 16), that's for sure. Samsung is working fast and One UI 8 will get the fastest release ever of any One UI update, but the rollout is unlikely to begin before August.

Android 16/One UI 8 will be the final big OS upgrade for the Galaxy S22 lineup. It will likely get One UI 8.5, which will debut on the Galaxy S26, sometime in the first half of 2026, but don't expect anything other than security updates after that.
