So far this year, Samsung has released two major firmware updates that are almost perfect. And now, amid the full-fledged expansion of One UI 8.0, Samsung is working on the next big update behind closed doors: One UI 8.5.

Most likely, One UI 8.5 will debut early next year with the launch of the Galaxy S26 lineup. Then, Samsung will bring One UI 8.5 to many other Galaxy phones and tablets released in previous years. Will your Galaxy device make the cut and receive One UI 8.5 next year? See if you find it in the list below.

A neat trick to quickly figure out if your device will receive One UI 8.5 is to check whether or not it is eligible for One UI 8.0.

You see, both One UI 8.0 and 8.5 are based on Android 16. So, even if Android 16 is the last update your Samsung device will ever get, it should receive One UI 8.5, sooner or later, as long as it is eligible for One UI 8.0.

For more details, the complete list (as of this writing) below names every Galaxy phone and tablet that should get One UI 8.5. It lists everything from the latest foldables and S-series flagships to budget Galaxy A phones and rugged devices. We'll talk more about availability after the break.

When will your device receive One UI 8.5?

Samsung hasn't mentioned anything about One UI 8.5 officially, but early builds have leaked, revealing plenty of interesting tidbits about upcoming features and changes.

Based on Samsung's usual firmware strategy, One UI 8.5 should debut early next year and gradually reach every eligible device over-the-air. A beta version of One UI 8.5 could reach a limited number of devices, such as the Galaxy S25 series, in late 2025, but no official beta plans have been confirmed so far.
