The First is a standard BlackBerry Security Wipe, which will remove security policies and third-party apps from the phone. From the homescreen, press the BlackBerry key and select Options. Then select Security Options - Security Wipe. Then check the items that you want to wipe. Then type blackberry in the box, as instructed. Then select Wipe.
The Second option is a Reset to Factory Defaults, which will restore the operating system you are currently running on your phone, although it won't remove third-party Apps. To do this you need to install the BlackBerry Desktop Software and open it on your computer. In the top-right corner, you will see a 'Help' question mark. Click this and choose Support Resources - Support Tools. Then in the section that says Reset to Factory Settings, click Reset.
