Google's Gemini AI has been deeply integrated on Samsung devices for a couple of years now. Samsung has also recently paired Bixby with Perplexity to make it more capable.
Our friends over at imeisource TV have posted a new video comparing Bixby vs Gemini AI to see which is the better option on your Samsung device.
Gemini is a lot more capable right off the bat, particularly if you're on one of the paid tiers. It lets you create images, videos, music, and do more than what Bixby can.
If you're just using the free tiers, they're both quite similar in terms of the functionality they offer and there are some areas where Bixby is better, as it has been fine-tuned for Samsung devices.
Five identical prompts were given to both assistants in the video and their answers compared. Both were quite similar in terms of the answers they provided.
One of the prompts required the assistants to set a reminder. They were both able to set it up in the Samsung Reminder app without any issues. One prompt asked for settings adjustments for the screen resolution.
While Gemini provided a more general answer, Bixby provided the right steps to adjust screen resolution on a Samsung device. This shows that if you have a device-specific question, Samsung's assistant is the way to go.
One area where Bixby stands out is its ability to suggest follow-up questions to your initial prompts. This isn't something that Gemini does right now. So Bixby makes it easier to extract more value out of it.
Check out the full video below, and you'll leave pleasantly surprised with Bixby's improved capabilities. Don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more informative videos.
