As Samsung is still struggling with the release of the stable version of One UI 7 (Android 15), Google has announced that it will release the Android 16 Beta 4 update today. This means the company is almost ready to release the stable build of the new version of the Android operating system.

Android 16 Beta 4 is here; stable update could roll out around July 2025

It has been around a month since the release of the third beta version of Android 16, and Google said that it will release the Android 16 Beta 4 update today. This could be the last beta release for Android 16. Google released four Android 15 beta updates last year, and it could do the same this year as well.

Google mentioned multiple times over the past few months that it will release the stable version of Android 16 a few months earlier than usual. So, once it releases the fourth beta today, the stable version of Android 16 could arrive in the next couple of months.

Some smartphone brands like OnePlus and Xiaomi have also released Android 16 beta updates for some of their phones. In comparison, Samsung has only released the stable Android 15 update for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, and only in a few countries and regions. The company needs to quickly release the stable update for all eligible devices before Google releases Android 16.

While Samsung has already started testing Android 16-based One UI 8.0 on some devices, there aren't many new things in it. You can watch One UI 8.0 in action in our early hands-on video above. The company will likely try to wash up its One UI 7 delay sins by releasing the One UI 8.0 update quicker this year. We already revealed that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will run One UI 8.0 out of the box.
