The W60 is a defunct nuclear weapons system. It was designed to be the very small nuclear warhead of the United States Navy's long range Typhon LR surface-to-air missile.Development started in 1959, and several fire safety issues delayed the XW-60's development. The Typhon itself ran into far more difficult development problems, especially in the size and weight of the acquisition and fire control radars and systems. By late 1963 Typhon was cancelled, with the XW-60 being terminated in March 1964.
