The Galaxy S26 is the next anticipated device from Samsung, and it is expected to bring camera and performance improvements. The performance improvement comes with the upcoming Snapdragon chip from Qualcomm, and thankfully, it will likely not affect the phone's pricing.
Processing chips have become a lot pricier over the past couple of years, forcing the price of the phones to increase. However, according to a new report, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 chip won't be significantly pricier than its predecessor. Hence, smartphone brands like Samsung won't have to increase the prices of their high-end smartphones. The Galaxy S26 is one of the phones that will use the next Snapdragon chip.

The prices of LPDDR5X DRAM chips have already increased 5% in the past few months, and it is expected to increase further by the end of this year. This could affect the prices of upcoming high-end phones that will be launched later this year or early next year.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 chip will be announced in late September, and it is expected to be made on TSMC's 3nm process node. The chip is rumored to have higher clock speeds for faster performance. It is said to feature second-generation Oryon CPU cores designed in-house by Qualcomm. Thanks to its newer design, the CPU will reportedly be 25% faster than its predecessor.

The Adreno 840 GPU inside the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 will bring a 30% performance improvement, which will make the gaming experience even better. It may also be able to push 4K displays at a 120Hz refresh rate. Early benchmarks displayed single-core CPU benchmark scores of over 4,000 points and multi-core scores of over 11,000 points in the Geekbench 6 test run.
With the faster performance, the Galaxy S26 series will likely offer much better performance for heavy tasks like gaming, high-resolution video editing, and AI processing. The phones in the lineup could also use Samsung's in-house Exynos 2600 chip in some markets or models. However, information in this regard is still shaky at the moment.
